Ken Cronin obituary On Tuesday morning, November 23, 2021, Kenneth M. Cronin, Jr. of Blakeslee, age 47, stepped from this life to life eternal and was able to see his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, face to face. Ken was born in Manhattan, New York on October 22, 1974 to Kenneth Sr. and Annette (Maglione) Cronin who both preceded him in death. Ken was the loving husband of Diane (Nordquist) Cronin and together they had celebrated their 27th anniversary this past August 21st; and he was a loving father to his four children; Amanda (23), Michele (20), Kenny (17) and Trevor (10). He is loved immensely by each of them. Ken served faithfully at The Brearley School in Manhattan, New York, as the building superintendent, a position he held for over 20 years, 18 of which he commuted from his home in PA. He loved his job, but he loved the people he was able to work with and alongside of even more. As much as Ken was loved in life, Ken himself loved life and lived it to its fullest. On Mother’s Day, May 8, 1994, at First Bible Church in Staten Island, Ken responded to an invitation given at the conclusion of the service and put his faith in Jesus Christ. Through the subsequent years, his life would display the reality that Ken understood the truth that a life being lived well is the life that is ultimately lived for the Lord. Ken enjoyed reading God’s Word and took the time to tell others of God’s love and the gift of salvation that he had accepted personally. It was his desire that others might also come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ instead of merely following a religious system of works and trying to be “good.” Ken loved spending time with his family and sought every opportunity to be with them. Aside from God, family was the most important thing to him. He loved to laugh (loudly) and loved making others laugh. Ken enjoyed many activities, such as campfires, hiking, snowboarding, sports, fishing, kayaking, camping, going on vacations, etc. However, it was not necessarily the activities that brought him happiness, but the time he spent with his family doing them. Ken loved and appreciated each of his children’s unique and individual God-given gifts, and always encouraged them to follow God’s will for their lives. Ken and Diane were brought together by God to serve and honor Him. They brought out the best in each other. They were soul mates. Ken was such a hard worker, extremely generous with both his time and resources, and had a tremendous heart for others – he was always willing and available to help anyone regardless of the need. Where most would be “put out” if someone asked them to help with a project, Ken would actually be “put out” if someone didn’t ask for his help. He had a servant’s heart and was a friend that loveth at all times. Since fall of 2015, Ken and his family have been an integral part of the Paradise Valley Baptist Church family where Ken served as a deacon, taught children in Sunday School and on Wednesday nights for Expeditions. He sang in the choir, took the young people to summer camp, assisted in Vacation Bible School, participated in the monthly men’s meetings and was always there to assist with the annual revival meetings, mission conferences, and outreach programs. He loved his church family and showed it in so many ways! A celebration of life service will be held at Paradise Valley Baptist Church, 395 Koerners Road Cresco, Pa. 18326 on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 12:00pm where friends and family may come for a viewing beginning at 10:00am and going up to the service time at noon. His body will be laid to rest at Stroudsburg Cemetery off of Dreher Ave following the conclusion of the service at 1pm. A lunch reception will be provided back at the church for friends and family at the conclusion of the gravesite committal service.
