Kay Lynn Miller Lambert Viechnicki, 71, passed away peacefully under hospice care with her
family around her on September 8, 2023. She was the loving wife of the late Julian R.
Viechnicki, with whom she shared 19 years of marriage.
Kay was born in East Stroudsburg on December 8, 1951 to the late Richard O. Miller and Janet
Albertson Matthews. Her early years were spent growing up in East Stroudsburg until the family
moved to New Jersey which is where she attended high school. She went on to pursue higher
education having graduated from East Stroudsburg University with a bachelor’s degree in
Psychology and Sociology with a minor in Social Work. She was employed for many years as a
social worker at Stroud Manor.
Kay was a strong, smart, and caring individual known for her sense of humor and her sense of
style. She dressed up every day even if she had nowhere to go. She loved jewelry and owned a
lot of it and you never saw her without her jewelry on to match her outfits. She loved music,
dancing and the beach. Kay loved watching football, particularly her Clemson Tigers (texting
with her sister throughout the entire game) and her Green Bay Packers.
Most of all, Kay loved her family and friends. She was proud of her children and all of her
grandchildren and great grandchildren. She never took her little Christmas tree down instead
she enjoyed decorating it for every season of the year with her great grandson. Her love for
them knew no bounds, and she treasured every moment spent with them.
Surviving are her step-mother, Mary A. Miller of Stroudsburg; her two daughters, Wendy Miller
of Delhi, NY, and Stephanie Bunnell (Craig) of East Stroudsburg; step-son, Daniel Viechnicki
(Allison) of Lancaster along with her three sisters, Georgia Prell of Hummelstown, Robin Lehr
(Warren) of Florence SC, Dahlia Miller of Stroudsburg and one brother Ed Mathews (Kelly) of
Huntington Valley. She also leaves behind six grandchildren, Leisha Miller (Nick), Kaylynn
Bunnell, Connor Miller (Destiny), Kalli Bunnell, Owen and Hayden Viechnicki; and four great
grandchildren: Landon Bunnell, Gianna Corforte, Makenzie and Ella Miller. She was pre-
deceased in death by her ex-husband, Barry Lambert, brother-in-law, Peter Prell and great
grandson, Bryden Cole Miller.
