Kathy ascended to her spiritual reward after a sudden heart attack in her sleep at home

on January 29, 2023.

It is impossible to convey her beautiful essence and spirit in a few sentences here. She

was truly a special person who had a gift for making other people happy. She had an

amazing way of brightening a room with her smiling Irish eyes and bouncy, cheerful

personality.

Kathy was Love

Kathy was Kindness

Kathy was Giving and Selfless

Kathy was Soulful

Kathy was Inspirational to others

A very artistic and creative person, Kathy spent many years performing as the children's

entertainer, “Brushes the Clown.” She invented and hand-made her own costumes and

puppets, and was the most sought-after clown in the Poconos for over 10 years. The

children loved her, and she loved performing for them. She also perfected her skills as a

face-painter, and thrilled many kids by turning them into the creature of their choice.

She was also working on writing and illustrating an original children’s book.

In her later years, she started to get back to her artistic roots by joining the Pocono Arts

Council and learning plein air painting. The picture posted here is at the award

ceremony where she won honorable mention for her painting, Fisherman in the Stream.

It was her first attempt at plein air. Her son, Jason, became her painting buddy and

mentor. She liked to brag that she had her own live-in painting instructor!

When her children Jason and Kara were young, Kathy became the "neighborhood

Mom.”

She opened her home to all of Jason's and Kara's friends in the neighborhood, and had

many little visitors here almost every day of the week. Lunchtime was usually a food

fight!

Kathy was also inventive, earning the nickname, "Mrs. McGyver.” She always had an

ingenious way of fixing things using common items found around the house.  More

recently, she was awarded three US patents for new types of household cleaning tools.

She was in the midst of attaining a fourth patent, and intended to market all four

products in the near future.

A deeply spiritual person, Kathy strongly believed that death was just the next step in

our journey through time and space. Her ascension to that next plane of existence is a

reality that should give us all comfort, as I'm sure those Irish eyes are still smiling there

and that she is spreading her cheerfulness to everyone in her new home.

Until we meet again my love and my soul mate.......
