Picture Julia Ann Banks, 84, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Monday October 24, 2016 at her home. She is the wife of Richard R. Banks Sr., they were married for 62 years. Born December 26, 1931 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Edward H. and Caroline (Cadue) Walker. She was a resident of Monroe County for the past 31 years, and prior to that of Wyckoff, New Jersey. She graduated from Ridgewood High School, Ridgewood, NJ with the Class of 1949; she then attended Beaver College and graduated from Payne Hall in New York City, NY. She was a member of the Midland Park United Methodist Church, Midland Park, New Jersey, where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Prior to her retirement in 1984, Julia Ann worked as a medical assistant at a urology group in Midland Park, New Jersey. After retirement she co-owned and operated Pocono Motion Auto Body Shop with her husband and son Rich. She was essential part of the success of the business. Her down to earth approach with advice was readily available to her son, She instilled great values and taught Rich to be a good man. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Richard R. Banks Jr. and his wife Kimberly of Stroudsburg; and her granddaughter, Emily A. Banks. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward H. Walker Jr. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 Cremation will be private at the H.G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg and burial of her cremated remains will be in the Laurelwood Cemetery.
