Josephine A. Sebring

Josephine A. Sebring (Smiley), affectionately known as Josie, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2024, at Spring Village at Pocono in East Stroudsburg, PA, at the age of 88. She was born on December 10, 1935, in East Stroudsburg, PA, daughter of the late Kenneth Smiley and Marion Smiley. She was married to her husband, Donald F. Sebring, for 68 years.

Josie is survived by her loving family: her husband, Donald F. Sebring; her son, Dale Sebring and daughter-in-law, Susan Sebring of Tannersville; her daughter, Judy Bachman of Kunkletown; her cherished granddaughters, Rebecca Sebring and LeeAnn Bachman; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth (Betty) Metzger and Doris Woodling.

Prior to her first born, she worked at Patterson Kelley in East Stroudsburg.

A woman of many passions, Josie was renowned for her culinary skills, especially her baking, which brought joy to many family gatherings. She also found solace and pleasure in her garden, tending to her plants with love and care. Josie was an avid jigsaw puzzle enthusiast, a hobby that reflected her patient and meticulous nature.

Services for Josie will be private. The Bensing Thomas Funeral Home in Stroudsburg, PA, is assisting the family during this difficult time. Josie's memory will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared by those who knew and loved her.
