Joseph T. Kane

Joseph T. Kane, 88, of East Stroudsburg, passed away suddenly on January 7, 2025. He was the loving husband of Myrtle M. (Getz) Kane, they were married for 70 years on June 12.

Born May 6, 1936, in Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Jerome and Margaret (Foley) Kane, he was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

Joe was a hard worker and was never idle, he worked as an over the road truck driver, owned and operated a BP Gas station on West Main Street, Stroudsburg he owned and operated the former Dirk's Tavern on North 9th Street, Stroudsburg and also worked for Papillon & Moyer Excavating. He was also a talented and avid woodworker.

Joe had a great sense of humor and always left a path of smiles wherever he went, he will be sorely missed by all who knew him and in addition to his wife Myrtle, Joe is survived by his daughter Teah Spencer and her husband Kevin of East Stroudsburg. His grandson Philip Coco of Nazareth and his granddaughter Camber Coco of East Stroudsburg He is also survived by his brother Richard "Dick" Kane of East Stroudsburg.

Cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family, The Bensing Thomas Funeral Home 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the cremation arrangements.
