In Loving Memory of Joseph J. Hartland, Jr.

Joseph J. Hartland Jr., 76, of Stroudsburg, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed on June 11, 2026 surrounded by family. Born on November 1, 1949 in Scranton, PA to Joseph and Evelyn Hartland, he spent his life caring for those he loved. He was strong willed and lived a full life. Joseph was a proud Vietnam veteran, serving in the United States Army, later working for PP&L as a lineman leader until he retired.

He is survived by his loving wife Joy Hartland, married for 31 years. He has two children Chris and Jen who gave him 5 grandchildren Corey, Althea, Elijah, Isaac, Sebastian, and one great grandchild Silas. He also has 8 bonus grandchildren Emily, Eric, Rachel, Samuel, Joshua, Sarah, Aja, and Sophia. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, who never failed to put a smile on his face. His whole family will miss him greatly and will never forget the lifetime of love, lessons, stories, and smiles he blessed them with.

The family has decided to not hold a funeral service, but to instead wish everyone to keep his memory alive through sharing stories and keeping his patriotic spirit alive.
