Joseph Anthony Fidilio, affectionally known as "Joey" was born on January 29, 1960 in Pachino, Italy to the late Francesco and Elisa Fidilio. The family migrated to America and made Bensonhurst, New York their hometown when Joey and his brothers, Sebastian and Salvatore (late) were young boys. Joey departed this life on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest. During his brief illness, he was surrounded by his beloved wife, Judith Elizabeth (Square) Fidilio and loving family. He received his education through the New York City Public School System. As a young man he worked in various pizzerias and gained the nickname "Joe Pizza". He later became a Custodian for the New York City Board of Education where he was employed for over 19 years. During his tenure he received many awards for his dedicated service. Before his sudden illness he worked several years as a Porter for the Martz Bus Company in Delaware Water Gap. He enjoyed going above and beyond to keep a smile on everyone's face he encountered. One of the greatest moments in Joey's life was when he met his beloved "Bella" as he affectionally called Judith. They were married on October 10, 2012. After their union they relocated to Monroe County in Pennsylvania to enjoy the peace and serene beauty of nature. He was a lifelong New York Mets and New York Jets fan. He faithfully rooted for Italy's soccer team yearly. He loved playing poker, eating cannoli and watching television. He was a "wise guy" that had the most sensitive soul. He left this earth knowing that he was loved.
