Joseph A Papa

Heaven has gained another angel.  Joseph A Papa, 86 of Stroudsburg went to his final resting place on August 22,2017. He passed away peacefully in his home and was surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his wife, Margaret (Brennan), son's, Joseph Jr, and daughter in law, Patricia, Timothy and daughter in law Patricia, daughter, Georgiana Lopez and son in law Walter, 12 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren , sister Ann Vastano and brother in law Pat. Joseph was a loving and devoted, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. His greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and many grandchildren. Joseph grew up in Brooklyn, New York and worked for the New York City Department of Parks. He is a Veteran in the US Army and served in Germany during the Korean War.  He was a devout member of St. Luke's Catholic Church in Stroudsburg  and a funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 25th at 10 am. The family will receive friends and family at Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 23rd and Thursday, August 24th from 1-4pm and 7-9pm.
