John R. Russ Jr.

Picture John R. Russ Sr., 91, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Tuesday April 24, 2018 at Gracedale Nursing Home, Nazareth. Born September 24. 1926 in Rotterrdam, New York the son of the late Albert and Minne (Furlong) Russ. He was a resident of Monroe County for the past 25 years, and prior to that of New York State. John was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, serving during WWII. He was a Christian. He was a member the Masonic Lodge. Prior to his retirement he worked at the Tobyhanna Army Depot and also worked as a Mason. He was loved by his family and is survived by his sons, John R. Russ Jr. and his companion Judy Joyce of Stroudsburg, and Eric Russ of New York State; his daughter Judy Klair and her husband Donald of Boston, Massachusetts. Her grandchildren Casey Russ, and Andrew and Nathan Klair. He was predeceased by his brothers Bob and All, and his sister Dorothy. Graveside services with Navy Military Honors will be held on Tuesday May 1, 2018 at 11:00am at the Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.
