John R. Dressel

John R. Dressel Sr. passed away on December 19, 2016 at VNA Hospice House. He was the husband of Mary Darlene (Kunkle) Dressel, they shared 29 years of marriage. Born in Newark, NJ on September 19, 1952, he was the son of the late Paul and Edith Dressel. He was a 1971 graduate of Sussex County Technical School in Sparta, NJ. He worked in the automotive industry for several years in NJ, and PA. He also enjoyed working on cars as a hobby in his home garage. He repaired and restored cars. In later years he worded For East Stroudsburg University as a custodian. He retired in 2012. In addition to his wife he is survived by a son, John R. Dressel Jr at home. He is also survived by a sister, Susan J. Lavelle of Reading, PA. Several nieces, nephews, great neices, and great nephews. A memorial service will be held on January 7, 2016, 2:00PM at The East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church, 55 Smith St., East Stroudsburg, PA. Rev. Edmond Freeborn and Pastor Nicole Vogel will be officiating.
