John Lee DeHaven, a resident of Kunkletown, passed away on the evening of July 26, 2024. He was born on June 21, 1953, to Wilbur and Elise DeHaven.
John is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Jamy DeHaven. He was a cherished father to son Jared DeHaven (daughter-in-law Megan) and daughter Jody Pieper (son-in-law Adam). His surviving sister, Debbie Flyte, and in-laws Joseph and Bettie Kunkle, along with nieces and nephews, also mourn his passing.
John is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Glen DeHaven.
Known for his love of the outdoors, John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He found joy in gardening, hosting bonfires with family and friends, and riding motorcycles with his wife.
John dedicated nearly 40 years of his career to Service Electric.
As one of Jehovah’s Witness, John served as an elder in the congregation for many years. He loved the friends in the congregation and sharing in the ministry, helping people learn about the Bible and the good news it offers.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Route 115 in Brodheadsville.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home in Stroudsburg.
