John F. "Chip" Chironna, 94, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, in Stroudsburg,

Pennsylvania.

Born on September 25, 1930, in Brooklyn, New York, John led a life marked by faith, dedication,

and generosity. A devout Catholic, he placed his faith at the center of his life and carried it into

every aspect of his journey. Spending time with his family and friends was extremely important

to John and he always enjoyed a good party. His kindness, intelligence, and undying sense of

humor left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

John pursued higher education at St. John's University, earning both a Bachelor’s degree in

Accounting and a Master’s degree. After obtaining his CPA certification, he embarked on a long

and successful career in accounting and senior management at IBM Corporation. He also served

as President of the National Association of Accountants (NAA), was the senior representative on

the International Accounting Standards Committee and was nominated to the Financial

Accounting Standards Board (FASB) several times. His expertise and dedication were widely

respected amongst his peers.

Beyond his professional achievements, John proudly served in the United States Army during

the Korean War. He was a true patriot and his service to the country was a testament to his

deep sense of duty and commitment to others.

John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dolores Chironna; parents, William and Mamie

Chironna; and sisters Paula Howe, Lucrezia Chironna, and Cesita Biancardi. He is survived by his

sister Suzanne McKinley (Jim); children Laura Fitzpatrick (Neil), Cyndi Guse (Ron), Will Chironna,

Jeff Chironna (Julie), John Chironna (Susan), and Vickie Chironna; as well as 19 cherished

grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held on April 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Luke's Catholic Church, located

at 818 Main St., Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania.

John’s legacy of love and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew

him. May his memory bring comfort and peace to all who mourn his passing
