Obituary for John Wesley Cook Jr. John Wesley Cook Jr. 82 of Reeders passed away early on Friday Morning November 1, 2019 at home after a battle with cancer. Born March 4, 1937 and was the son of the late John W. Cook Sr. & Lillian Cook. Born in, Pequannock, NJ. John was a resident of the Reeders area for the past 31 years and prior to that he resided in Pequannock, N.J. He served in the United States Army in the 1950's and was employed with the Operating Engineers Union Local 825 as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement in 1995. He was of the Christian faith. John was a devoted man to his family as a son, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather . He is survived by 3 sons: John W. Cook III and his companion Sandy of Reeders, PA, Edward Cook, of Tafton, PA, son Tommy John Cook of Reeders, PA, and daughter Lisa and husband Antione Lagarde of Marrero, LA. a sister Janiece Morse and grandchildren: John W. Cook IV, Carlye Peek, Nicky, Angelina, Nicole, Christopher, Victoria and Tesse, Zachary James, Hayley and Joey Mackawgy and great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. John was preceded in death by Wife Mary E. Wassmer (in 2017), Wife Judith A. Brown (2001), Daughter Debra Cook, son James Cook, son Joseph Mackawgy, 1 grand child Angel Lagarde. Also preceded in death by his siblings Robert Cook, and Lillian Decker. He had a large extended family and circle of friends. John was a very loving man he never met a person he could not make a friend and would just stop and talk for hours even with people he just started to get to know. He had an infectious smile and a fun sense of humor. To know him is to love him. He loved the outdoors and spent hours hanging out on the porch with whomever would visit and shoot the breeze. He is dearly loved and will be greatly missed by so many. Memorial services will be held on Saturday November 9, 2019 at 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 N 5th St, Stroudsburg, PA 18360.
