Joanne Lessig of Henryville, Pennsylvania went to meet her Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday May 8, 2025. Born in Chester, PA on September 11,1952 she was the daughter of Edwin Coover and Beatrice (Mcknight) Coover. She Graduated from Pocono Mountain High School and Studied to be a Physical Education teacher at ESSC graduating in 1972. Joanne taught Physical Education at Monsignor McHugh School for the majority of her career as a teacher, and Notre Dame School for her last few years. She loved to have fun with her students and coworkers and did all she could to make sure they enjoyed her classes and their time at work. Gogo was beloved in her neighborhood and by all those who were blessed to share life with her. She loved to go on adventures and could turn ordinary tasks into memorable moments with her quick thinking and creativity. Gogo made sure that those she loved most had no shortage of fun memories. Her favorite beach days were spent at Ocean Gove, NJ with her Boys and those she loved most, she also had countless trips with her dog Teddy, riding her 4-wheeler alongside her children, grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Joanne is survived by 2 sons, and 7 grandchildren, Rory Lessig and wife Mary of Chandler, Arizona and their 2 children Tre and Madelyn, and Jay Lessig and wife Alexis of Stroudsburg Pennsylvania and their 5 boys, Xander, Miles and wife Madison, Levi, Wesley and Asher. Joanne is also survived by 5 siblings, Jean Nottle and husband Ray, Judi Coover, Eddie Coover and wife Debbie, Bill Coover and Wife Melissa, and Tim Coover and Wife Carla. She has 2 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews many of whom were a part of her daily routine loving life living for the Lord. A memorial service will be held on May 31, 2025, at Berean Bible Fellowship Church visitation starting at 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Faith Christian School in memory of Gogo Lessig. Cremation Arrangements were entrusted to Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home.
