Jesus D. Rivera

Jesus D. Rivera, 61, of Long Pond, Passed away on Saturday May 6, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Amanda M. (Moreira) Rivera, they were married in 1983 Born February 14, 1956 in San Miguel, El Slavador, the son of the late Angel Rodriguez and Eva Rivera. He was a resident of Monroe County for the past 30 years. Prior to his retirement, he owned and operated Jesus D. Rivera Long Pond Carrier Company. In addition to his wife, Jesus is survived by his children Lucy Alvarez of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Mercy Rivera of Oklahoma, Evelyn Rivera of Elizabeth, New Jersey and Jimmy Rivera of Wilkes-Barre; his grandchildren Carlos Rivera, Joseph Kupka, Phabian Kupka, Juelz Cheatham, Anthony and Alexis Alvarez He is also survived by his brother Arquimades Rodriguez, and his sisters Anna and Maria Rivera; and many nieces and nephews. Jesus was predeceased by his brother Antonio Rivera Funeral services will be held on Tuesday May 9, 2017 at 11:00am at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg. Burial will follow in the Laurelwood Cemetery. There will be viewings on Monday May 8, from 5:00pm to 9:00pm and on Tuesday May 9 from 10:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
