James Ryan Chang Stokes

James Ryan Chang Stokes, 27, of Cresco, died unexpectedly on Thursday, November 14, 2024. James

was born October 27, 1997, in Brooklyn, NY, and through the miracle of adoption, became the son of

Greg and Jo Ann (Jo) Stokes.

James was a proud graduate of Northampton Community College followed by East Stroudsburg

University earning his bachelor’s degree in Business Management. He loved to travel and recently

returned from South Africa where he visited friends. He loved to go snowboarding, shoot pool and spend

time with his many friends.

James was proceeded in death by his grandmother, Nancy (Nana) Reiter and his best friend, Akili

Eugene.

James will be deeply missed by his parents Greg and Jo Ann (Jo) Stokes; siblings, Iveanna Stokes,

J’Vontre Stokes, Jaynashia Stokes, and Nathan Stokes; nephews and nieces, Jayze, Aliza, Zaylee, Rajell

(RJ) and Bella as well as many aunts and uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

A celebration of life will take place at Benders Mennonite Church, 975 Benders Church Rd, Pen Argyl,

PA, on Monday, December 2, 2024 at 11:00am immediately followed by the internment. Child care will be

available.

Cremation arrangements were entrusted to the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home of Stroudsburg PA.James
