James Mchugh Fay Jr.

James (Seamus) M. Fay Jr, 61 of East Stroudsburg passed away on Sunday May 21, 2023. Born November 25, 1961 in Glenridge, New Jersey, the son of the late James M. Fay Sr and Carol (Walsh) Fay. He was a resident of Monroe County since 2006 and prior to that of Morris County, NJ. James was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Corporal.

He was a proud member of The American Legion post 0945, Appalachian Fiddle and Bluegrass Association and National Rifle Association.

James retired from the Steamfitters Local Union 475 after more than 35 years of service as a welder and fitter.

James enjoyed camping, hunting, bluegrass festivals and Harley Davidson motorcycles. But above all else Seamus was an accomplished musician and loved to sing and play his Martin guitars.

James is survived by his son Conor Fay (Missy) of San Diego, CA; son Ryan Fay (Catena) of Jersey City, NJ; daughter Erin Fay of New Bern, NC; sister Colleen Fay of White Plains, NY; sister Karen Brett of Middlesex, NJ; and brother John Fay (Gerri) of Roxbury, NJ.

James was preceded in death by his father James Fay Sr; mother Carol (Walsh) Fay; and brother in law Kevin Brett.

Catholic Prayer Services with Military Honors will be held on Friday May 26, 2023 at 5pm at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home. 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg, PA. There will be a visitation on Friday, May 26, 2023, from 2pm until the time of services at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be held at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. 712 Grove Street, Montclair, NJ at later date.
