James John Monte 77, passed away peacefully at home on September 27, 2017 leaving his wife of almost 57 years, Adrianne, children: Judie Ann Vanatta, Linda Pasciak, Marie Costenbader, husband Rick, Jeff Yohe, Wife Carin. Jim was also blessed with grandchildren and great grandchildren: James Vanatta, wife Jess, daughters Emma and Maddie, Christopher Vanatta, wife Ashlin, son Brody: Meghan Vanatta, Jeffrey Pasciak: Matthew and Dylan Costenbader. Jim was a successful builder in the Pocono’s. He was a 5th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do and enjoyed teaching children the sport. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim donated all profits from a house he built to initiate a project to raise funds for Women’s Resources to build a new counseling center and shelter. His sub-contractors and suppliers helped by donations labor and materials. The project was called “A House for a Home”. Jim Proudly served in the US Army as a paratrooper in the 101st Screaming Eagle Airborne, 1959-1962. There will be a memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warriors, of Women’s Resources of Monroe County or to the American Cancer Society. www.bensing-thomasfuneralhome.com
