James “Jimmy” Harris, born March 13, 1962, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and a longtime resident of East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Jimmy spent much of his life working as a dedicated diesel mechanic, a career that suited his natural talent for fixing anything placed in front of him. In the later years of his life, he took on the role he cherished most—being a loving stay-at-home dad to his last two children, Kyle and Rylee. They were his world, and he was always there cheering them on at every sporting event, never missing a moment.
Though a private person, Jimmy’s family knew him as a warm, funny jokester with a heart of gold—someone who would give you the shirt off his back without hesitation. He was endlessly handy and always had a solution to any problem. His beloved Camaro, affectionately named “Cherry,” was one of his great joys. He was also an avid fan of the New York Giants, New York Mets, and New Jersey Devils, and he loved spending weekends watching NASCAR. One of his favorite weekly traditions was “Pizza Tuesday,” where he never failed to enjoy his pepperoni pizza.
Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, George and Mary Harris, and by his beloved dog Leeyah, who was always by his side. He is survived by his brothers David and Gary, his sister Nancy, his youngest brother Michael, many nieces and nephews, his devoted partner Stephanie—his “better half”—and his last two children, Kyle and Rylee, who will forever carry his love with them.
Jimmy’s presence, humor, and boundless support will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
