- James William “Jim” Fish, 61 of Stroudsburg, passed away at his home on Sunday August 9,
- 2026, after a long and arduous journey with cancer. Through the years, he navigated many
- treatment options, persevering each day with strength and determination.
- Born in East Stroudsburg, the son of Ronald William and Lucille Lorenzet Fish, Jim was a
- lifelong resident of Monroe Country. His passions included hunting, fishing, golfing, and, most
- importantly, spending time with family. He found joy in the simple moments and the company of
- good friends.
- Jim served as a member of the East Stroudsburg Fire Department, Acme Hose Company No. 1
- for 35 years. As a young man, Jim started his career alongside his grandfather, William Charles
- Fish. A master of his craft, Jim was not only a sales and design engineer, but also a third
- generation sheet metal worker whose work encompassed both small and far-reaching scopes
- within the community.
- Jim was a trusted mentor, teacher, and problem solver whose willingness to help, knowledge, and
- patience shaped the careers of countless coworkers. No matter the challenge, people knew they
- could turn to him for guidance, as he never hesitated to share his time, expertise, and unique
- perspective. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and if he could give you a hard time
- while doing it, all the better. Jim had a quick wit and a good-natured way of teasing those around
- him, often using humor as his own way of showing he cared.
- He is survived by his mother, Lucille Fish Read; sister, Connie Fish Harris; and three children,
- Kaitlin Fish, Taylor Fish, and Will Fish.
- A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at the Moose Lodge, 705 Stokes Mill Road, East
- Stroudsburg on Sunday August 23, 2026 from 1-5pm. The family invites all who knew and loved
- him to attend.
