Irena W Andranowska

Irena W Andranowska 76, of Tannersville passed away at home in her bedroom comforted by her family and her pet cat Misia. Previously lived in Elizabeth, New Jersey. She was born in Lutcza, Poland on May 10,1946 the daughter of Helena (Pitera) and Tadeusz Polchlopek (Killed during WWll), raised by her stepdad Kazimierz Wnek. Irena was a devout Catholic of Our Lady of Victory in Tannersville PA. Prior to that was a member of St, Adalberts Parish in Elizabeth, NJ. Irena loved her family immeasurably. Some of her favorite activities included gardening. Her yard was always filled with beautiful flowers. She enjoyed cooking and making sure everyone was always well fed. Irena also liked spending time with her friends, as well as coloring, reading Polish novels, going to the casino, watching General Hospital and Wheel of Fortune. She worked as a seamstress in Simmons Co. for 16 years in Elizabeth, NJ and worked in housekeeping at NJ Geriatric Center in Elizabeth, NJ for 18 years until she retired. She is survived by her daughters Bernadette J. Scott and her husband, Michael C. Scott of Tannersville, PA; Lucy E. Miyakawa and her husband Matthew of Jackson, New Jersey; her grandchildren, Ania A. Koehler of Tannersville, PA; Gregory M. Scott and his wife Dana, of Leland, North Carolina; Matthew Pitera of Jackson, New Jersey and great-grandchildren Scarlet R. Scott and Oliver G. Scott of Leland, North Carolina. She was predeceased by her parents and stepdad, her brothers Eugieniusz Polchlopek and Tadeusz Wnek. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Victory Church , 327 Cherry Lane Road , Tannersville with Father Richard E. Czachor as celebrant. There will be a viewing on Monday June 6, 2022 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm and 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg, PA In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association 225 N.
