Hildegard Roeckendorf

Hildegard Roeckendorf, 84, passed away on October 24, 2018 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital- Cedar Crest. She was the wife of Walter Roeckendorf, they were married for 65 years. Born March 14, 1934 in Rendsburg, Germany the daughter of the late Heinrich and Frieda (Sadtler) Scharbow. She was a resident of Monroe County since 1965. She was a member of the Stroudsburg United Methodist Church, and the former German Club. Prior to her retirement, she was the Vice President and Treasurer for her husband’s business Roeckendorf Electric Inc; prior to that she worked as a hostess at Wyckoff/Routzahn’s Tea Room. She was a wonderful loving mother and grandmother and in addition to her husband is survived by her daughter Kirsten Lee and her husband Mahlon of East Stroudsburg; her 3 grandchildren Jason Norquist, Jessica Wary and Tyler Lee. Her great grandchildren Allie, Jason Jr. Elise and Ethan Norquist, and Margrit and Adeline Wary. She was predeceased by her daughter Margrit in 1994 Memorial funeral services will be held on Saturday October 27, 2018 at 11:00am at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Pastor Bob Shank officiating. There will be a visitation from 10:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home.
