Picture Hazel L. Barnes, 89, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Saturday September 22, 2018 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Pocono. She was the husband of Kenneth W. Barnes, they were married for 26 years. Born June 22, 1929 in Appenzell, the daughter of the late Adam and Alice Batchler. She was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Hazel was a member of the Analomink United Methodist Church, where she was the pianist and organist for over 21 years. She worked as a telemarketer for Shawnee and also worked at CCC Marketing. Prior to that she worked at the Pocono record for many years. In addition to her husband, Hazel is survived by her daughter Wanda S. DeYong of Stroudsburg, her son Randy A. Keiper of Raceland, Kentucky. Her grandsons, Ryan Keiper of Lexington Kentucky, David and Gregory DeYong of Stroudsburg, her great grandchildren Zoey and Kaden Zimorowicz and Foster Keiper. Hazel was predeceased by her son Francis Walter Keiper, Ricky Alan “RoadKill” Keiper, her grand daughter Jessica M. Turner and her son in law Gregory DeYong. Memorial funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at 11:00am at the Analomink United Methodist Church, Route 191 and Cherry Lane, Analomink with Pastor Dorothy Stem officiating. The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Analomink United Methodist Church
