Harvey J. Miller Sr., 90, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Lehigh Valley Hospice House in East Stroudsburg. He was the loving husband of Charlotte M. (VanAuken) Miller, with whom he shared 68 years of marriage since July 11, 1958.

Born on March 19, 1936, in East Stroudsburg, he was the son of the late Lorenzo and Helen (Duckworth) Miller and a lifelong resident of the town. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he served during the Vietnam War. Before retiring, Harvey worked for many years at the East Stroudsburg Post Office.

He was a longtime and senior member of the Acme Hose Company #1, East Stroudsburg Fire Department

He was active in his community, serving on the zoning hearing board for the Borough of East Stroudsburg and as a member of the Monroe County Planning Commission. He was also involved with the East Stroudsburg Salvation Army and was a member of the J. Simpson Africa Masonic Lodge #628.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Terri Cramer and her husband Carl, and Patricia Grafer; his son, Harvey J. Miller Jr., and his wife Teddi; grandchildren Allison Novak and her husband Justen, Abbie Rothmann and her husband Tyler, Blake Miller and his wife Emily, Charlie Mae Davis and her husband Noah, David O’Leary, and Christopher Grafer; great-grandchildren Carlynn Novak, Gabriel Miller, and Hayden O’Leary; his sister, Helen Irene Miller, and his sister-in-law Linda Miller

Harvey was predeceased by his siblings: Howard Miller, Lillian Keiper and her husband Ronald, Lorraine Gregory and her husband Boyd, and Lester Miller

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg. Entombment with military honors will follow at the Mountainview Mausoleum in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg. Viewings will take place on Thursday, August 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 14, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Acme Hose Company #1 of the East Stroudsburg Fire Department, 380 Chestnut Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
