Gregory Allen Kelter Profile Photo

Picture Gregory Allen Kelter, age 30, of  East Stroudsburg, passed away at home early Saturday morning. Born on Feb. 15, 1986 in Kew Gardens, New York, Gregory was the beloved son of Michael and Debra (Imperial) Kelter of East Stroudsburg. He idolized  his younger sister Catherine Kelter and her life partner Karen Asplint, also of East Stroudsburg.  Greg graduated from East Stroudsburg Area High School and was an accomplished self-taught guitarist. He worked for several years as a dispatcher for an intermodal trucking company in Marshalls Creek, and was proficient in computer repair.  Greg was the much loved grandson of Jack Kelter of Charlotte, N.C., Dolores Kelter of Kew Gardens, N.Y., Dorothy Imperial of Jamaica, N.Y., and Judy Spurgeon of Penn Valley, CA; nephew of James and Holly Kelter of East Stroudsburg, PA, Michael and Noreen Rinaldi of Staten Island, N.Y., Bryan and Eva Kelter of Kew Gardens, N.Y., Kurt and Teresa Laschke of East Stroudsburg, PA., Anthony Imperial of Anchorage, AK, and Anna Imperiale of Miami, FL; and older cousin to Justin and Jillian Kelter of East Stroudsburg, Jaclyn Rinaldi of Staten Island, N.Y., Christopher, Elizabeth and Alysson Laschke of East Stroudsburg, and Haille Imperial of Oregon. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Thomas Imperiale.  Gregory's memory will also be cherished by his many friends, including his very close friend, Leo Aprahamian.   Greg had many friends, a wonderful sense of humor and a heart of gold.  Drug addiction took those from him and he spent the last six years of his life fighting that horrible addiction.  He lost that fight in the early morning hours on Saturday, March 5th. We are all devastated at the way in which drugs took away what should have been a wonderful life for a gifted, intelligent, talented young man.  A graveside service and burial will take place at 1:00p.m. Thursday, March 10 at Maple Grove Cemetery located at 127-15 Kew Gardens Road, Kew Gardens, N.Y. 11415 The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the funeral arrangements
