Geraldine (Gerry) Freeman passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at home. Born in 1935, in Dickson City , she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. Chobey and Sophie (Pietrewicz) Chobey.        She was a 1952 graduate of East Stroudsburg High School, where she was named to the "Meritorious Wall of Fame"  She was a member of the Saint Matthew's Catholic Church, and was a former volunteer at Pocono Hospital.        She was employed by McGraw-Edison Co., (Cooper Industries), in the payroll department, for five years.  She also worked for ESU, in the Admissions & Records Office, and Kemp Library for 26 years, until her retirement in 1997.        She in survived by two sons, Dwayne H. Freeman, and his wife, Carol, of East Hanover, NJ, and Guy C. Freeman, and his wife, Marilyn, of Beaver, PA; three grandchildren, Gregory Freeman of Jersey City, NJ, Rachel Freeman of East Hanover,NJ, and Shane Freeman of Beaver, PA; nieces Sandy Jacobsen McFadden, Tobyhanna, Jill Chobey Wilson, Oklahoma, and Kelly Chobey , Stroudsburg.           She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph (Bob) Chobey, a sister, Joan H. Jacobsen, and her sons father Harold C. Freeman.          There will be a viewing from 10:00am to 11:00am at Saint Matthews Roman Catholic Church, 200 Brodhead Ave, East Stroudsburg. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00am by Father John A. Bergamo, as celebrant.  Burial will follow in Laurelwood Cemetery, Stroudsburg.      Memorial contributions may be made to Eastern Monroe Public Library, 1002 North Ninth Street, Stroudsburg. The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
