Flag George Andrew “Sonny” Dyson, 86, passed away on Monday February 5, 2018 at the Elk Haven Nursing Home in Saint Marys, Pennsylvania. He was born September 6, 1931 in Long Pond PA the son of the late Gladys (Singer) Dyson Dutt and Willard T. Dyson. He resided in the Pocono Mountain Area for most of his lifetime He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of the Loyal Order of the Moose and the American Legion of East Stroudsburg. George enjoyed Nascar Racing, Football and western movies. He also enjoyed spending time at the Ridgway YMCA George is survived by his brother Thomas “Bill” Dyson and his wife Joann of Perth Amboy NJ, His sons Stephen “Steve” B. Dyson of East Stroudsburg, and Willard T. “Will” Dyson and his wife Sharon “Sherry” of Sugarland TX, His daughter Georgina D. “Sis” Dyson Yee of Ridgway PA. His grandchildren Christopher “Chris” Dyson and his wife Jennifer “Jen’ of Sugarland TX; Nickolas “Nick” Dyson of Sugarland TX, Alycia Yee Skutt “Peanut” and her husband Adam of Owings Mills MD, Jonathan Yee “JJ” of Marshall’s Creek; Three great grandchildren: Hailey Dyson of Sugarland TX, Charlie Dyson of Sugarland TX and Lillian Skutt of W Owings Mills MD, and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday February 13, 2018 at 11:00am at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg. Cremation will follow.
