Frieda M. Ackley Tice

Frieda M. Ackley Tice, 90, of Sciota, passed away on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at the Meadows at Stroud. She was the wife of David M. Ackley and was married to him from 1949 until his death in 1981, and then she was the wife of John D. Tice from 1982 until his death in 2013. Born April 12, 1927 in Atlantic City, NJ, the daughter of the late Ernest C. And Helen (Strotbeck) Rau. She was a resident of Monroe County since 2009 and prior to that of Wilmington Delaware. Frieda was a registered nurse. She trained in the Atlantic City Hospital. She was a faithful member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE. Frieda is survived by her three children, Sheila Tice and her husband Bob of Sciota, Pa, Janice A. McNeill of Georgetown, De, and her son Willard P. Ackley and his wife Tamara of Milford, Pa. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Her grandchildren are David Tice and his wife Lindsey of Northumberland, Carol Tice of Saylorsburg, Daniel Tice of Tobyhanna, Jonathan Tice and his wife Lauren of Tatamy, Christine Tice of Bend, Oregon, Stephen Tice of Tobyhanna, Ashley McNeill of Bluebell, Pa, Lindsey Ackley-Pozzessere and her husband Nicholas of Falmouth, Maine, and Rachel A. Hagelgans and her husband Matthew of New Tripoli, Pa. Her great grandchildren are Melody Tice, Karalyn Tice and Grace Anne Tice. She was predeceased by her brother Ernest Rau. Memorial funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 3 p.m.at Calvary Chapel, 146 Bossardsville Rd. , Sciota , Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE.
