Fredrick R (Freddie) Frantz, 53, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on October 20, 2023, at St.

Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, after a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Lisa M (Parks)

Frantz. October 14th marked their 17th wedding anniversary.

Born in East Stroudsburg on October 7, 1970, Fred was the son of the late Fredrick Layton

Frantz and Janice Eschenbach Frantz. He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg High School and he

attended Penn State University. Fred was also a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving

during Operation Desert Storm. While serving, Fred was the recipient of the Southwest Asian

Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the AF Training Ribbon.

Fred worked as an Operational Manager for Penske Logistics and was also a beloved local

bartender. He was an avid sports fan and especially loved the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles.

He loved playing golf with his many friends. Fred loved his dogs who were often found

surrounding him while watching the Phillies. Fred was a member of the American Legion Post

346 and the CLU Social Club.

In addition to his wife Lisa, Fred is survived by his sisters Stacie Catino, Georgia and Laurie

Wilson and her husband Jeff Wilson, Saylorsburg; his Aunt Sarah and Uncle Don Wilmot,

Sterling; and his Uncle Butch and Aunt Sue Tallada, East Stroudsburg. He is also survived by his

many nieces, nephews, and in-laws who he adored. He was preceded in death by his

grandparents, Vernetta and Edgar Bellis and Sarah and George Frantz, and his Uncle John

Eschenbach.

Fred’s family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses at St. Luke’s Bethlehem ICU and ER

for their tireless and compassionate care for Fred and his family. They would also like to thank

Fred and Lisa’s friends and neighbors for their support during this trying time.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 12th at 2pm at Downriver Brewing

Company, 564 Main St, Stroudsburg PA. We are asking that those attending wear Fred’s

favorite team’s gear. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to American

Legion Auxiliary Unit 346 for VA Hospital Wilkes Barre, 126 E. Fifth St East Stroudsburg, PA 18301
