Francisco O'Farrell Jr.

On Sunday, May 2, 2021, Francisco O’Farrell Jr. Passed away in the loving arms of his family at age 91. Francisco was born on March 12, 1930 in Galway, Ireland. At age 3 months he was taken to Puerto Rico where he was raised in an orphanage, following the death of both his parents to tuberculosis. When he was 18 he was then raised by his extended family. Francisco traveled to New York, where he joined the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He met the love of his life and future wife of 59 years, Gladys Henriquez, a nursing student at Metropolitan School of Nursing, who preceded him in death January 8, 2018. Together they had three loving children Lorna, Francisco III and Joseph. These children then gave them grandchildren Naomi, Jason, Nolan, Ariel, Andrea, Alexandra. To further the line of an amazing life, they have Great-Grandchildren Carmen, Sabrine, Daniel, Ethan and Logan. Francisco loved spending time with his family, camping, bowling and bingo. He was the Monroe County Veterans Association 2020 Veterans Day Parade Grand Marshal. He was dedicated to his love of God and the Catholic Church, as an attest to that, he took his final breath while watching services on television. He will be greatly missed but remembered for living a full life of faith and Family A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Saturday May 8, 2021 at 10:00am at the Church of Saint Matthew , 200 Brodhead Avenue, East Stroudsburg with Father Ryan Glenn as Celebrant. There will be a viewing on Friday May 7, 2021 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm and on Saturday Morning from 8:30am until 9:30am at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations my be made to Monroe County Joint Veterans Honor Guard,359 Lower Lakeview Drive, East Stroudsburg PA 18360
