Francis ‘Fran’ James Fallano died peacefully in his home in Saylorsburg, PA, on Thursday, February 11, 2021, at the age of 77.In addition to his loving partner Donna Malshefski, Fran is survived by his daughters Dana (Tim) Melia of Malvern, PA, and daughter Jaime(Oscar Luna) Whitcomb of West Chester, PA. He was the beloved grandfather of seven grandchildren: Nora, Braeden, Kylie, Marla, Tanner, Jack and Tessa. Fran was born on May 1, 1943, in East Newark, NJ, to James and Rosemary Fallano. After graduating from Harrison High School, Fran owned a hair salon “Mr. Fran’s” in Harrison, NJ. In 1975 he moved to the Poconos where he began working as a chef at Mount Airy Lodge. Fran was an accomplished chef/proprietor, owning several restaurants throughout his 40-year career including Fallano’s at Cherry Valley in Stroudsburg, PA, and Francesco’s on the Lake in Saylorsburg, PA. His family knew him as a loving, witty individual who was passionate about sharing his culinary talents to create Italian dishes for his customers, family and friends. He was a car enthusiast who enjoyed playing cards with his family, 60’s Rock and Roll, watching football, trivia, western movies, and recipe creation. He was an active member of Saint Luke’s parish. Due to the pandemic, a memorial service will be private for immediate family.
