Ernest H. Smith

Ernest H. Smith, 71, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Tuesday December 13, 2016 at the Blough Nursing Center, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Jean Ann (Smith) Smith. Born February 8, 1945 in East Stroudsburg, the son of the late Harold J. and Evelyn (Booth) Smith. He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. Ernest owned and operated Smith’s Body Shop in East Stroudsburg for many years, and prior to that he worked in the auto body shop at Stroud Ford. He lived for working on his 56 Ford and his family, he loved cars, racing and hill climbs. He loved his family and is survived by his daughter Debora M. Loch and her significant other Frank Bell of Stroudsburg; his son Timothy E. Smith and his wife Patricia of Eustis, Florida; 5 grandsons, 1 grand daughter; 3 great grandchildren; his sister Joan Smith-Lesoine and her husband Peter of Scotrun, his brother Lloyd Smith and his wife Sue of Kingston, PA and several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held on Saturday December 17, 2016 starting at 4:00pm a the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge #1336, 705 Stokes Mill Road, East Stroudsburg In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made the family in care of the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg PA 18360
