Erik Harold Amhurst

Erik Harold Amhurst, 44, of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 30, 2023.

Born October 16, 1978, in East Stroudsburg. He was the son of Christine (Ludgate) Amhurst of Stroudsburg and Harold Amhurst of Schenectady, New York.

We will remember Erik's infectious smile, incredible sense of humor, loyalty, dedication to hard work and his huge heart.

Erik loved children and had always hoped to start a family. He had a passion for football and enjoyed spending time with friends, family and dogs. He loved passing time outdoors, kayaking and hiking.

During his youth, Erik was a talented athlete. He excelled in baseball as a skilled pitcher and in football as a star running back.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Nicole Gorsline of Rochester, New York and 3 brothers, Michael B. Strunk, Ryan C. Amhurst and his wife Stephanie and Shawn Amhurst all of Stroudsburg.

He is also survived by his nieces and nephew, Ashtyn, Giuliana, Milania, Lukas, Ethan, and several other nieces and nephews.

There will be a viewing on Friday July 7, 2023, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm with a Catholic Prayer service at 2:00pm with Father Michael F. Quinnan officiating at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg
