Elouise Tolson was born on March 20, 1938, in New York, New York to the late James Anderson and Rebecca (Hamilton) Anderson. She attended Yorkville High School. After high school Elouise worked in a laundry were she operated the presses, rolled and folded clothes.
In June 1960, Elouise Anderson and Luther Tolson were married. For many years, Elouise was a stay at home mom. She had seven children: Mildred E Tolson-Cooper, the late Rebecca Dorese Tolson, Deborah Louise Tolson, the late Cynthia Tolson, and James Anderson Tolson; Luther Isaiah Tolson and William Wesley Tolson.
After rearing six children, Elouise was hired and worked at Mount Sinai Hospital in the Housekeeping Department until she retired.
Elouise was a loving, caring, understanding, forgiving, selfless, devoted and beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Loved by family and friends. A kind-hearted woman that believed that you get what you give out of life and did things her way. She was famous for her one liner words of wisdom.
Elouise leaves behind her grand-children: Darryl Miller, Wayne Wesley Tolson, Dorese Nicole Tolson, Denise Miller, James Anderson Tolson-Cooper and Theodore Roosevelt Jackson-Cooper and a host of great-grands.
