Eleanor Susan Klaver

Eleanor Susan (Hickman) a/k/a Susan Klaver, age 84, peacefully left this life and went to her eternal rest on Thursday, January 13, 2022. Eleanor passed at St. Luke's Hospital (Monroe Campus) surrounded by family members. Eleanor was born on December 2, 1938 in the City of Trenton, New Jersey as daughter of Helen Gigle; and, she was raised by Helen and her husband, Nate Marshall. She underwent her schooling in Pennington, New Jersey, and, thereupon resided in New Jersey. She was a hard worker operating a grocery store and engaging in sales, merchandising and banking occupations. She moved to the area of Upper Mount Bethel Township, Northampton County, PA fifty (50) years ago where she has been a housewife and caretaker of her family. She was married for 64 years to her husband Ale Peter Klaver, Sr. who has survived her. She is also survived by her son, Ale Peter Klaver, Jr. and Kathy Klaver, his wife, and daughter, Natalie Bisher and Bruce Bisher, her husband, who are all of Upper Mount Bethel Township, PA. A daughter, Irene Heckman, and a step-daughter, Rita Gallagher, predeceased her. She was also predeceased by a step-brother, James Marshall She is also survived by eleven (11) grandchildren, twenty-five (25) great- grandchildren and five (5) great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly and who will sorely miss their Nanny. During her lifetime, Eleanor excelled in crocheting and was an avid collector of glassware such as Holland-Dutch pieces. She and her husband also loved and doted over their farm animals. She was also a long-time member of the Upper Mount Bethel Township Zoning Hearing Board. Funeral arrangements are private at the discretion of family, however, a memorial service is planned for her later in the year.
