Edwin (Ed) D. West, more commonly known as Pop-Pop to his family, passed away

peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 5. He was 91.

Born on January 26, 1933, in Scranton, PA, Ed was the son of Elmer and Genevieve

(Wilbur) West. After graduating from West Side High School in Scranton, Ed served

his country as a member of the United States Army. Upon his release from the

Army, Ed returned home where he met Anna Mae, his soul mate. After a few short

months, they were married on February 12, 1953. They celebrated their 71st

anniversary this year.

Ed found work in the Scranton area but ultimately relocated to East Stroudsburg to

find a better education for his children, Susan and Jason. While in East

Stroudsburg, Ed worked as an insurance investigator. He spent many years doing

this and loved the conversations he had with the people he met.

Ed loved meeting people and getting to know them. Throughout his life, he

encountered many great experiences and loved telling everyone about them. Ed

spent countless hours recounting these tales with his family and friends. He loved to

travel with his wife and family, spend time at the casino with Anna Mae, and

paint/create decorations and ornaments for family and friends. Most of all though,

he loved to spoil his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ed was a man of great faith, who attended East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church

with his family for many years. He was a kind and generous soul who always put

others before himself. His family and friends will remember him for his warm smile,

his gentle nature, and his unwavering love.

Ed is survived by his son, Jason West (Carol); son-in-law, William Ellis; his

grandsons Matthew Ellis (Kristen), Scott Ellis, Kyle West, and Brian West (Christin);

and his great-grandchildren Jaxon and Jordyn. His wife, Anna Mae, passed away on

Sept. 10th, 2024, and in a true testament to their love, Ed followed shortly after. He

was also preceded in death by his daughter, Susan, and his two brothers, Ray and

Cal.

A joint memorial service for Ed and Anna Mae will be held Monday, Nov. 18th at

East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church. Calling hours will start at 10 AM with a

service beginning at 11 AM.

Rest in peace, dear Pop-Pop. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
