Edward R. Arner, 74, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Wednesday September 1, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of Kathy (Sebring) Arner and they were married in 2004. Born October 3, 1946 in Lehighton, the son of the late Ernest and Margaret (Hill) Arner, he was a resident of Monroe County since September of 1964, when he came to study at East Stroudsburg University and remained for the rest of his life. Prior to his retirement, he was a physics teacher at East Stroudsburg High School for 37 years. He was a member of The Church of Saint Luke, Stroudsburg. In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his daughter Katharine F. Arner and her husband Michael Kuzmich of Baltimore, Maryland, his sons Edward J. Arner of Delaware Water Gap, and Joseph N. Arner and his partner Chelsea Watts of Wesley Chapel, Florida, his step children, Ronald Fish and his wife Marta of Goose Creek, South Carolina, David W. Fish and his partner Teresa Williams of Saylorsburg, and Dean P. Fish of Tannersville. He is also survived by his grandchildren David J. Maj, Raleigh Hayes, Aiden Hayes, and Madeline Kuzmich. Additionally, Ed is survived by his brother Stanford Arner and his wife Elizabeth of Shillington; his sister Phyllis Vedder and her husband Ralph of Adamstown; and nieces and nephews. Ed enjoyed sports and an active lifestyle. He was a member of the East Stroudsburg High School Football Teams' Chain Crew. He also loved to fish, golf, camp, and the thrill of friendly competition, including playing games and cards. He was a life-long student whose studies included, but were not limited to, guitar, dancing, and magic tricks. There will be a visitation on Saturday October 2, 2021 staring at 10:00am with a memorial service at 11:00am at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home , 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in honor of Edward R. Arner.
