Edward A. Sylvester

Edward A. Sylvester, 81, of East Stroudsburg, passed away on Sunday March 2, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Patricia L. (Kenyon) Sylvester, they were married for 35 years.

Born in Budd Lake, New Jersey, the son of the late Edward and Beatrice (Ward) Sylvester. He was a graduate of West Morris High School, New Jersey, and graduated from Teterboro School of Aeronautics.

He was a proud Veteran serving in the United Sates Army, during the Vietnam War; where he was the crew chief on the Huey UH-1 and received several marksman awards with the M14 rifle.

He was a truck driver for over 30 years driving for Carolina Freight and ABF.

Ed was a member of the American Legion in Stanhope, New Jersey, CLU Club and the Moose Lodge in East Stroudsburg. He was also a member of the Budd Lake Hunting Club, where he won many awards for the biggest deer, the North-South Skirmish Association, where he received marksman awards for black powder rifles and pistols.

In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his daughters, Bonne Leemon and her husband Dave, and Tracy Pierce and her husband Patrick all of Weatherly; his stepdaughters, Connie Jakoby and her husband Gary of South Carolina, Debbie Binder and her husband Aaron of Scott Township, PA, Donna Landrum and her husband William of Newton, NJ, and Patricia Toroni of East Stroudsburg; 14 grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was predeceased by his sisters, Sharon Todd, Velma Sexton, and Linda Bencivengo.

Eddie was a fun-loving guy. He loved his whole family. He enjoyed playing darts and pool with his friends. We have many fun-loving memories, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

As per his wishes, there will be no services at this time. The Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of his arrangements.
