Edith Mary Bassett

Edith Mary Basset, 91, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Friday June 23, 2017 at Pleasant Valley Manor. She was the wife of the late John F. Bassett who died in 1994. Born July 14, 1925 in Wind Gap, the daughter of the late Griffith and May (Hilton) Pritchard. She was a resident of Monroe County for most of her lifetime. Edith worked at the former Ronson Corp of Delaware Water Gap; she also worked at Stroud Ford: and was a hostess at the Train Coach in Tannersville. She is survived by her children Griffith D. Bassett and his wife Christine of Plentywood, Montana, Elizabeth Bassett of Monroe County, Ann M. Nauman and her husband David C. of Marshalls Creek, and Dennis J. Bassett and his wife Ann of Stroudsburg. Several grandchildren and several great grandchildren Graveside funeral services will held on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at 11:00am at the Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
