Dorothy "Dot" Lewis

Dorothy J. (Snyder) Lewis 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 21, 2023

in Allentown. Born in Doylestown, PA on March 20, 1932, Dot was the daughter of

Russell I. and Grace (Biehn) Snyder. She was a devoted wife of 60 years to Robert A.

Lewis, Sr. who passed away on March 26, 2021.

After graduating from Lansdale High School, Dot obtained her nursing degree from The

Women’s Hospital of Philadelphia in September 1953. She continued her education and

received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania in

1958. She was a licensed registered nurse in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and

New Jersey. Dot was an active member of the Monroe County Democratic Association.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, camping and spending time at their cabin in the Poconos.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dot was preceded in death by her sisters-in-

law, Marion (Hackman) Snyder and Catherine (Pinto) Snyder; her stepdaughter, Joan

A. Day; her sons-in-law, Richard C. Allen and Patrick M. Day.

She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her brother, Russell I. Snyder Jr, of

Hatfield; her nephew, Russell I. Snyder III (wife Lynne) of Allentown, and her niece,

Diane (Snyder) Hoover (husband Michael) of New Hampshire. She will also be lovingly

remembered by her stepdaughter, Karen J. Allen; her three stepsons, Robert A. Lewis

Jr. (wife AnneMarie); C. Edward Lewis Sr.; and John P. Lewis Sr.

(fiancé Barbara Graefe); 25 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, and nieces and

nephews.

There will be a viewing on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 11:00am until 12:00pm with Funeral services to immediately follow at Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg.
