Donald E. Sanders

Donald E. Sanders, 69, of Forks Township, Northampton County passed away on Thursday February 21, 2019 at his home surrounded by he family. He was the husband of Lucetta R “Peggy” (Davidson) Sanders, they were married July 4, 1980. Born October 2, 1949 in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, the son of the late Harold J. and Elizabeth (Wettlaufer) Sanders. Prior to his retirement he was an Industrial Rigger and truck driver working for Frick Transfer of Easton, for many years. He also worked at Victaulic in the 1970’s. He loved to Fish and Hunt, especially fish, and was an avid Philadelphia Eagle Fan. He loved his family and his family loved him, and is the proud father of Erica Bisesi and her husband Eric of Maryland, Sean Sanders of Nazareth, Adam Knecht and his wife Melissa of Allentown. Gwen Sanders of Belvidere, NJ, Valerie Koogle of Maryland, Allen Knecht of Pottstown, and Elizabeth Perez of Altoona. His grandchildren Colin, Tristin, Jeffrey, Brook, Lisandra, Courtney, Abbey and Riley. He is also survived by his sisters Jane Volk and her husband David, and Susan Mucha and her husband Scot, and his half brother Gene Sanders; and many nieces and nephews He was predeceased by his brother Harold. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the funeral arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
