Dolly Mae Smith

Dolly Mae Smith (Mayberry) of Appenzell, Pa., passed away in her sleep on November 1, 2022.

She is survived by her children Kathryn S. Tusa, and husband Robert, Mark A. Smith, James R. Smith and wife Gale, and Glenn J. Smith and wife Maureen; her grandchildren Jason R. Smith and wife Jennifer, and Rebecca L. Kresge and husband Ryan, Brandi M. Kearney and husband Bruce, Samantha M. Posluszny and husband Mark, Hillary A. Connors and husband Tom, Blake R. Smith, Madeline F. Tusa, Megan L. Smith, and her great-grandchildren Abigail, Grace and Gideon Smith and Tucker and Sadie Kresge, Brody, Bryson, and Brogan Kearney, Mickey and Brennan Connors and Walker Posluszny. In addition she is survived by her brother Frank Mayberry and wife Marylou and sister-in-law Vera Maryberry.

Dolly retired from Patterson Kelley Federal Credit Union after several years of service. She was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star Monroe Chapter #99 where she served as Worthy Matron and Secretary of Monroe Chapter #99.

Dolly was an active member of St Mark’s Community Lutheran Church, Appenzell where she served in several committees and organizations within the congregation and always enjoyed reminding everyone about their cakes for the Appenzell Picnic.

Dolly is preceded in death by her husband Robert B. Smith, and brother Kenneth I. Mayberry.

Eastern Star services will be held at 12:30 pm; a Memorial Service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at St. Mark’s Community Lutheran Church, Miller Road, Appenzell with Pastor Paulette Obrecht officiating.

The Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
