Divine D. Stearns

Divine (Kemmerer) Stearns passed away Tuesday evening, May 15, 2018. She was born on October 12, 1943 to the late Thomas Kemmerer and Violet (Hilliard) Kemmerer in East Stroudsburg, PA. Ms. Stearns, a lifelong resident of Monroe County, graduated from East Stroundsburg High School in 1961 and continued her education at East Stroudsburg State Teachers College. Divine worked for close to half a century at the Pocono Manor Inn and Golf Club where was well know face to area golfers. Ms. Stearns was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Muldoon, and brother Harold Kemmerer. She is survived by her son James A. Muldoon, Esq., and his wife Lori Streets Muldoon, Esq., of Charleston, WV; her daughter Catherine Stearns Treible of Cresco, PA; and her beloved granddaughters, Juli Catherine Muldoon and Alexandra Muldoon, at home. Ms. Stearns is also survived by siblings Claudette Seager of Tannersville, PA; Shirley Raye of East Stroudsburg, PA; Thomas Kemmerer of Stroudsburg, PA; Darlene Dieter of Tannersville, PA; Nancy Duggins of Wilmington, NC; Patricia Matlock of East Stroudsburg, PA; James Kemmerer of Marshalls Creek, PA; a host of nieces and nephews; and her longtime friend Michael Boylan of Scranton, PA. A celebration of life gathering, followed by a memorial service, will take place between the hours of 10:30am and 12:30pm on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home, located at 401 N. 5th Street, Stroudsburg, PA.
