Diane Quimby

Diane Quimby was born in Roselle NJ on 11/26/1943 to the late Francis and Leona Garufy. She entered eternal rest after a long battle with amyloidosis at her formal residence in Nanticoke Pa with her loving daughter and under the care of Hospice of the Sacred Heart.

Diane was a retired pharmacy technician of 35 years. After retirement she spent many years as a home health aide/ companion. She volunteered for many years with Lehigh Valley Hospice and later was under their care prior to coming home.

Diane loved to travel. She had taken trips to Mystic Connecticut with her companion Glen Burke of 25 years and spent time reading on the beach and having dinner with extended family. Her favorite trips were cruises that were accompanied with her friend Alice. She was part of the Red Hat Society and loved her time taking day trips, going to shows, and luncheons. She had recently joined the Senior Center and found a love for bingo.

Diane had many friends she cherished and loved throughout her years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all those she had touched.

She was proceeded in death by her late husband Arthur Quimby, mother-in-law Blanche Quimby, parents Francis and Leona Garufy, son Joseph Kopesky, Granddaughter Jessica Quimby, and brother Francis (Butch) Garufy.

Surviving is her children Jennifer (Quimby) Sienkiewicz and companion John Minarik, Laura (Quimby) Del Valle and husband David Del Valle, Lisa (Quimby) Van Zile and husband Scott Van Zile, and Janice Kopesky. Her grandchildren David and Devin Del Valle, Shane Fox, Anthony Kopesky, and great grandchildren Lucas and Kayleigh Quimby-Urner. Her brother Robert Garufy and his companion Constance. Her companion Glen Burke and his family.

There will be funeral service on Sunday August 9, 2026, at 4:00pm at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg PA. There will be a viewing on Sunday August 9, 2026, from 2:00pm until he time of the service
