Dawn L. Slutter, 81, of Stroudsburg died Wednesday afternoon at the VNA Hospice House. She was the wife of Lester Slutter, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Sunbury on March 8, 1936, she was one of twin daughters of the late David and Dorothy Linderman. Her twin sister Diane died at 4 months. The Lindermans moved to the Stroudsburg area when Dawn was 1 year old. She graduated from Stroudsburg High School (Class of 1954) and attended the Easton Hospital School of Nursing, ultimately earning LPN certification while raising three children. Dawn worked at Pocono Hospital for 17 years before moving to retail positions at several stores in the Stroudsburg area prior to retiring. In addition to her husband, Dawn is survived by two sons, two sisters, and one grandson: son Steven and his companion Louise Lessig of Hamilton Square: son Scott and his wife Jessica of Yardley; sister Linda and husband Larry Bailey of Stroudsburg; sister Susan Paul of Benton, PA; grandson Doyle Young and family of Lock Haven, PA. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Young, and sister Patricia Daly. Cremation was handled by the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg .
