David Lawrence English, 68, of Stroudsburg passed away on Tuesday December 5, 2017 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Pocono. He was the loving husband of Cynthia English, they were married for 45 years. Born November 17, 1949 in Williamsport , Pennsylvania, the son of the late Wesley and Virginia English. He was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War from 1967 to 1971, with the Army Security Agency in Germany. He was past President of the Varsity E Football Club; and was a member of the American Legion Post #346 for the past 44years. He worked as the Bindery Superintendent at Cadmus, formerly Hughes Printing for 25 years. He also worked at the Maintenance Department at the Monroe County Correctional Facility for 10 years until his retirement. In addition to his wife, David is survived by his son Wesley English and his wife Beth of East Stroudsburg, his daughter Samantha Varkanis and her husband Manny of Stroudsburg; his grandchildren Georgie and Nathaniel English, and John and Christian Varkanis. David is also survived by his brother Blair English of South Williamsport. He was predeceased by his brother Donald English. There will be a visitation from 2:00pm until the time of a memorial service at 4:00pm on Saturday December 9. 2017 at the Bensing-Thomas Funeral Home 401 North 5th Street, Stroudsburg with Father Theodore Petrides officiating.
