Daniel Eskenazi (1926–2023)
Daniel Eskenazi, age 96, of East Stroudsburg, PA, died on Sunday, October 29, 2023.
He was born at home in Harlem, New York in 1926 to Mordecai and Esther Eskenazi,
the youngest of five children, the only one born in the U.S. as the rest of the family was
from Turkey. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Elayne Meyerowitz Eskenazi of
East Stroudsburg, PA, a son, Reuben Eskenazi of Edison, NJ, a daughter, Anna
Eskenazi Bush of Olean, NY, a granddaughter, Alyssa Eskenazi Stabile of New Jersey,
two grandsons, Daniel Woodbridge of Olean, NY and David Woodbridge of Olean, NY,
and many nieces and nephews.
Daniel served in the U.S. Army as an MP in WWII and was stationed in Korea. He was
an artist and interior designer. He loved to sing and also wrote poetry. Daniel also loved

A memorial service will be held in the spring at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of
the Poconos. Donations can be made to the Sierra Club or the Unitarian Universalist
Fellowship of the Poconos.
