Cynthia Jean “Cindy” Kane, of State College died on Wednesday, April 25 at Juniper Village at Brookline, State College. She was the wife of the late James H. Kane. Born in November 1952, she was the daughter of the late Jean (Hill) and Claude Rogers. After growing up on Long Island, Cindy attended East Stroudsburg State College. Upon graduation she joined Penn State University as a computer programmer within their technology department. She retired after a 33-year career. An avid Nittany Lions fan, Cindy enjoyed attending many Penn State football games. However, her passion was women’s basketball which was obvious by the collection of Lady Lions memorabilia she proudly displayed. As an active member of the Calvary Baptist Church of State College, Cindy loved many annual trips to Estonia to assist in the Church’s Missionary Bible School for Children. Cindy is survived by her Son: James Kane, and his wife Barbie of State College and Grandson, Graysen White and granddaughter Isabella Galio. She is also survived by her sister Laura Blomquist, and her husband Robert of Long Island; two brothers: David Rogers and his wife, Joanne of Charleston, SC, and Richard Rogers and his wife, Amanda of Pittsburgh. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28 at 3 pm at the Bensing Thomas Funeral Home, 401 North Fifth Street, Stroudsburg, PA. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Prospect Cemetery, East Stroudsburg, PA.
