Cynthia A. “Cindy” English, 74 of Stroudsburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday,
March 20th at Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest Hospital. She was the wife of the late David L. English
who died December 5, 2017 to whom she was married for 45 years at the time of his passing.
Born April 4, 1950 in Elmira, New York, the daughter of the late Frank and Barbara (Gee)
Vermilya. Cindy was a devoted wife, mother, nana, and friend. Her greatest joy in life was her
family. Cindy beamed with pride when talking about her four grandchildren. She was truly loved
by all and had a smile that could light up a room!
Cindy worked in customer service since 2003, most recently at Vigon International and
prior to that at Cadmus Communication Corp (former Hughes Printing), both East Stroudsburg.
She had an exceptional work ethic and was a dedicated employee her whole life.
Cindy is survived by her son Wesley English and his wife Beth of East Stroudsburg, her
daughter Samantha Varkanis and her husband Manny of Stroudsburg; her grandchildren
Georgie and Nathaniel English, and John and Christian Varkanis.
She is also survived by her sister Maribeth Endress of Bloomsburg and her step sister
Cheryl Sims of Reading.
She was predeceased by her husband David L. English, her mother Barbara (Gee)
Vermilya, her father Frank (Ed) Vermilya, stepmother Mary Vermilya and her sister Diane
Disbrow.
A memorial service to celebrate CIndy's life will be held on Saturday May 3, 2025 at 2:00pm with people gathering from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the American Legion Post # 346, 201 East 5th Street, east Stroudsburg
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Al Keglovits Scholarship
